How to Fit Venetian Blinds
Venetian blind styles today are fashionable, colorful and provide reliable shading and privacy in your home. Because you can adjust the amount of light or privacy that you want with the use of a cord and acrylic tilt wand, venetian blinds are a favorite choice for many homeowners. Blinds are available in a variety of colors, materials and sizes. But for them to hang correctly, they must be fitted properly. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Venetian blinds
- End fix box brackets
- Wood screws
- Screwdriver or power drill with screwdriver bits
- Measuring tape and pencil
- Stud finder

Screw the end fix box brackets that will hold the venetian blind to the side, the top or the face of a wall or a window frame, depending on if you want them mounted inside or outside the window frame.

Mark the places for the brackets so the space between the outsides of the brackets is at least 5 mm (3/16 inch) greater than the width of the top of the venetian blind. Use a stud finder to make sure you will be mounting the bracket into the wood behind the wall.

Remove the front plates from the end fix box brackets, and screw the brackets into the wall.

Measure and mark the placement of any intermediate brackets (necessary if the venetian blind is very wide). Place them equidistantly between the end brackets.

Insert the headrail of the venetian blind into the brackets ensuring that the blind slats are all below the brackets.

Replace the front plates in the end brackets by inserting the two lugs into the top of the bracket. Swing the plate down, and clip it into the bottom of the bracket.

Tips & Warnings
Never raise the blinds when the venetian blind slats are closed.
