Netgear services control router interfaces.

If you manage a network with a Netgear router installed, you may have installed the Netgear client services on your Windows machine. If you replace the Netgear router or no longer need the software installed, you can remove it from the machine to free up resources and disk space on your machine. Windows has an uninstall manager that allows you to view and manage installed programs. You can remove the Netgear services using the Control Panel.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the Windows "Start" button and select "Control Panel." In the window that opens, double-click the "Add or Remove Programs" icon. If you have Vista or Windows 7, the icon is labeled "Programs and Features."

    • 2

Scroll down to the Netgear services icon listed among the programs installed on your computer. Click the "Remove" button next to the icon. If you have Vista or Windows 7, the button is labeled "Uninstall."

    • 3

Click the "Next" button at the main uninstall screen. It may take several minutes for Windows to uninstall the Netgear services.

    • 4

Click "Finish" at the final summary screen. If you are asked to reboot, click the "Reboot" button to restart your computer.
