How to Download Themes to an iPhone

Being able to change the theme of your Apple iPhone is something many owners have wanted to do since the iPhone was first introduced. When the iPhone was hacked, and subsequently jailbroken, the world of iPhone theme customization began. To download themes to your jailbroken iPhone, you must use either the Cydia or Installer program.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your jailbroken iPhone and wait as it boots up. When you unlocked/jailbroke your iPhone, you had the option to install Cydia and Installer. If you did not install them, you will need to rejailbreak your iPhone and install at least one of them.

    • 2

Locate either the Cydia or Installer icon and press it to open the app. Wait as the app you chose loads and press the "Search" button on the bottom.

    • 3

Type “Winterboard” into the search box, and a list of apps will appear. Select the “Winterboard” app from the list, and it will install. Your iPhone may restart. If it does, go back into either Cydia or Installer after it reboots.

    • 4

Press the “Sections” button and select “Springboard Themes” from the next page. The iPhone springboard is the name given to the iPhone “desktop.” Do not confuse this with Winterboard, which is the app that applies themes to the springboard.

    • 5

Select a theme from the list that appears in the theme section. The theme will be installed but not applied. Exit the Cydia or Installer app and press the Winterboard app icon on your iPhone home screen.

    • 6

Select your theme from the list and exit the app. Your new theme will be applied.
