Norton Ghost is a popular data backup and recovery utility that can be used at home or in a work environment. The Ghost program is produced by the Symantec corporation, and starting with Norton Ghost version 10, the ability to backup and restore data over a network has been incorporated into the program. A backup file saved by Norton Ghost is referred to as a "Ghost Image" in older versions of the Ghost program, and the term is still used by Ghost users in later versions of the software.

      Open the Norton Ghost application and select the "Recover My Files" menu option.

      Select the "OK" button followed by the "Open Another Location" menu option.

      Find your remote backup files using the file chooser within Norton Ghost. Select the remote folder that holds your backup files. Then, click the "OK" menu button.

      Choose the folders or files you desire to restore over the network and then click the "Recover Files" menu option. Norton Ghost will display a "completed" dialogue box when complete.
