What is the Easy Way to Record Sound on an IBM ThinkPad?
Your IBM ThinkPad operating system comes with a simple sound recorder you can use for easy and simple voice recording. It basically captures the sounds that come from your microphone and shows you whether it is picking up a sound or not by showing the sound waves it captures. You will know that the sound recorder is picking up something if the green line is expanding to show you wavelike figures.

Tips & Warnings
The Microsoft sound recorder that comes with your operating system is extremely rudimentary and not recommended if you plan to do serious studio-quality recordings on your computer. Expect acceptable sound quality, but not anything fancy. This is simply the easiest way to record sound on your computer.
If you haven't noticed, there is a 60-second limit to how much sound you can record. You can essentially increase this time limit by pressing the record button again when you are finished with the first one-minute segment. You can also do this by pressing the "Stop" button and pressing the "Record" button again, adding another 60 seconds to the point where you stopped the recording.
