Mats sustain a large amount of wear and tear. Refinishing them is a good way to keep them in optimal condition, and it's something you can do yourself.

- Mat cleaner
- Mop and bucket
- Mat repair kit
- Vinyl paint (2 colors)
- Paint brush, roller or sprayer
- Painter's mask

Clean the mat with mat cleaner and a clean mop. Allow the mat to dry overnight.

Fix any cuts or holes in the surface with the mat repair kit. Apply the glue from the kit to any tears and use the caulking compound to fill any holes or depressions. Allow 24 hours for the glue to dry.

Apply vinyl paint with a brush, roller or sprayer. Allow to dry according to the manufacturer's directions.

Flip the mat and perform the same procedures on the other side.

Paint the standard wrestling markings, such as the ring and start marks, using a different color of vinyl paint. Allow at least 24 hours to dry.
