The same instructions for programming your Honda remote entry keys apply across several years and several models. Therefore, one set of instructions likely meets your remote access key programming needs. Note that when you enter the programming mode, the car loses all memory of prior remotes. Therefore, you'll need to have all your remotes on hand for programming at the same time. Also, you must complete each individual step in five seconds.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the ignition switch to "On" or "II."

    • 2

Press a "Lock" or "Unlock" button on one of the remotes. It doesn't matter whether it has previously been programmed or not.

    • 3

Turn the ignition switch to "'Lock" or "0." Note that this "Lock" is on the ignition cylinder, not the remote.

    • 4

Repeat Steps 1 through 3 two more times with the same remote.

    • 5

Turn the ignition switch to "On."

    • 6

Press the "Lock" or "Unlock" button again, on the same remote used before. The door locks will now cycle, to confirm that you are now in programming mode.

    • 7

Press a "Lock" or "Unlock" button on every remote you want to program. The locks will cycle after every successful programming.

    • 8

Turn the key to "Lock" to exit the programming mode.
