How to Wrap Zucchini Bread As a Gift

How to Wrap Zucchini Bread As a Gift thumbnail
A bumper crop of zucchini (or a grocery store sale) can yield a relatively inexpensive gift: zucchini bread.

Just because zucchini bread is often baked into a roughly rectangular shape doesn't mean that you can wrap it in the same manner as a regular, rectangular gift box. If you have your heart set on wrapping your zucchini bread gift in this way, wrap the bread tightly in plastic wrap and place it into a gift box of similar size to your loaf and wrap as usual. A far easier method is to use colored cellophane, stiffer than traditional plastic wrap, and ribbon.

Things You'll Need

  • Zucchini bread
  • Clear or colored cellophane bags
  • Twist tie
  • Fabric ribbon
  • Cardstock (optional)
  • Hole punch (optional)

Instructions

    • 1

Place the zucchini bread gently in the cellophane bag.

    • 2

Gather the cellophane above the loaf, give it a quick twist and tie a twist tie to secure it.

    • 3

Trim the cellophane at the top, if desired.

    • 4

Cut out a small piece of cardstock and write the recipient's name and your name on it, if you want to attach a gift tag to your zucchini bread present. Punch a hole somewhere on the cardstock piece.

    • 5

Wrap a length of fabric ribbon around the twist tie, covering it. If you are using the cardstock, thread it onto the ribbon and tie ribbon in a knot or bow, whichever you prefer. Wrap the ribbon around a few times if you are using narrower ribbon that doesn't completely cover the twist tie.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you aren't wrapping zucchini loaves in bulk, just grab an extra twist tie from the supermarket the next time you buy fresh produce.

  • This same technique works for pretty much any other item you can think of, from gift baskets to cookies to hand-knitted mittens.

  • If you'd rather have ribbon curls cascading from your zucchini bread gift packaging, use plastic curling ribbon. To create the curls, open a pair of scissors completely and drag one of the blades firmly and quickly along the back of the plastic ribbon.

  • Like all breads, your zucchini bread doesn't have an infinite shelf life. Bake and package your bread only a day or two before giving the gift, preferably as close as possible to the gift-giving event.
