The Honda S2000 was designed as a performance-oriented track star, one that could cruise the streets by day and tear up the road course on the weekends. But the driving experience is hampered a bit by the poor quality stock stereo, which could use improvement. To fix this, you can swap out the stock deck for a newer model with more features, but first, you have to remove the stock model.

      Pull the emergency brake lever with your right hand. Place your left foot on the clutch and shift the gear shifter into fourth gear, then release the clutch.

      Open the cover on the stock stereo. Grip just inside of the cover with your hands and pull on it straight out to remove the bezel around the deck.

      Remove the four Phillips-head screws that secure the stereo to the dashboard using the Phillips-head screwdriver. Then pull the deck out with one hand, and pull off the antenna lead and wiring harness with the other.
