How to Change the Created Date on a File
When a file is created by a program installed on your computer, your operating system will include a signature that states the time and date of its creation. For the user, this feature makes tracking the various drafts of a document easier. From an operating system standpoint, a file's time stamp is especially important when trying to restore a computer to its latest stable system configuration. However, if the time and calendar settings are inaccurate (because of Daylight-Saving time, Leap Year or time zone changes), the file will retain this erroneous signature, even when the settings are corrected. Fortunately, you can download a number of free programs that allow you to manually change the time-stamp signature on a file.
