How to Hang a Glass Ball Vase Fish Bowl
Glass ball vase fish bowls are sometimes used as decorative accessories in home interiors. Whether they are filled with fish, potpourri or a potted plant, the glass fish bowl shape can be a challenge to hang. One simple solution is to make a two-strand beaded hanger. The beaded strands fit beneath the glass fish bowl in a cross configuration so that the vase can hang securely. Make the beaded hangers with any shape of glass, wood or clay bead in sizes from 4mm to 6mm. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Measure the circumference of the glass ball vase fish bowl from rim to rim. Measure the desired length of the beaded hanger from a ceiling or other hook to the top of the bowl's rim. Double the hanging length measurement and add it to the circumference measurement. For example, if the desired hanging length is 36 inches and the bowl is 15 inches around from rim to rim, double 36 as the hanger has two sides, then add 15 to get the overall length of each beaded strand.

2
Cut two lengths of 22-gauge craft wire equal to the overall length of the beaded strand, plus two inches.

3
Thread a crimp bead over one end of one wire strip. Thread a large jump ring. Fold one inch at the end of the wire over the jump ring and back through the crimp bead. Crimp the bead closed with crimping pliers.
-
4
Thread 4mm beads to the crimp bead. Cover the wire tail with the first few beads that you thread. Fill the wire to within one inch of the end.
-
5
Thread a crimp bead behind the last 4mm glass bead. Fold the end of the wire over the opposite side of the jump ring. Feed the wire tail back through the crimp bead. Crimp the bead closed with crimping pliers.

6
Repeat Steps 3, 4 and 5 to make the other beaded strand. Hang the jump rings over a one- to two-inch planter hook where you plan to place the glass ball vase fish bowl. You can screw a planter hook into a ceiling joist or a wall stud to hang the fish bowl.

7
Center the bowl inside the beaded strands. Situate the strands so that one is at the east, west, north and south points of the glass bowl.
