How to Clean Rain Boots

Stepping into a rain puddle with nothing on your feet save a pair of sneakers can really put you into a bad mood. Rain boots serve to protect your shoes and feet from getting soaked. Of course, exposure to the mud and sludge that comes with rainy days will have them filthy upon your return home. Once you've taken them off, spend a few minutes cleaning your rain boots to leave them looking their shiniest.

Things You'll Need

• Mild dish soap
• Water
• Clean cloths
• Rubber conditioner

Instructions

1. Wipe down your rain boots with a mixture of mild dish soap and water and a clean cloth. This will remove accumulated dirt and grime.

2. Rinse your rain boots with water.

3. Store your rain boots to air dry in a cool, dark area. Direct exposure to sunlight and heat will not only cause damage to the rubber, but will also fade the colors and designs on your boots.

4. Apply a rubber conditioner to your rain boots. Rubber conditioners will keep your rain boots supple and protect them from fading.
