How to Add a Tuner to a TV Without a Tuner thumbnail
An external tuner connected to a monitor can transform the component into a functional TV.

An external TV tuner can be connected to a television monitor that is not equipped with a built-in tuner. These stand-alone tuners are typically equipped with a remote control for programming and changing channels. A tuner attaches to the TV with a coaxial cable and threaded couplers. A second cable is needed to connect the tuner to a signal source, such as cable or satellite service. The setup should take less than 10 minutes.
