How Can I Add a New Browser to My BlackBerry Bold?
The BlackBerry Bold is a mobile smartphone created by Research In Motion and distributed by various mobile service providers. Although it has updated features, such as LED changer and WordtoGo, it is often criticized for its poor web browser functions. There are several different mobile web browsers that you can add to your BlackBerry Bold, each with its own pros and cons. For the most part, you have to download the web browser files to your computer and then install them into your BlackBerry Bold using BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

Download the mobile browser software to your computer. (See Resources for impartial information on choosing a mobile web browser.) Right-click on the downloaded program files and choose “Extract All” if they were compressed in a ZIP file. Otherwise, you can use them as they are.

Turn on your BlackBerry Bold. Connect it to your computer’s USB port with the cable that came with your phone. Start the BlackBerry Desktop Manager on your computer. (See Resources if you need to download the software.) Click “Application Loader.”

Click “Start” under the Add/Remove Programs heading. Click “Browse” to search for the program files you downloaded in Step 1. Select and click “OK.”

Click “Next” when you get back to the Add/Remove Programs screen. Click “Finish” to start the installation process. You will know when it finished when confirmation message pops up telling you it’s done.
