Each Nintendo Wii console has an internal memory of 512 megabytes. Unlike the GameCube before it, the Wii has no memory card option, but it does have an SD card slot. If you want to transfer saved game data to another Wii, copy it onto an SD card.

Instructions

      Place the SD card in the SD card slot on your Wii. It's on the front cover beneath the SD slot cover.

      Turn on your Wii and go to the "Wii Options" menu.

      Click "Data Management," then "Save Data," then "Wii."

      Select the save you want to transfer and click "Copy" and "Yes" to confirm.

      Remove the SD card from your Wii after the copy completes.

      Place your SD card in the other Wii.

      Turn on the Wii. Go to "Wii Options," then "Data Management," then "Save Data," then "Wii."

      Click the "SD Card" tab.

      Click the save file and select "Copy."

Tips & Warnings

  • The save file has to be on the Wii's internal memory for you to play it.
