How Do I Create an Avatar for My Photo on My Ning?

Ning is a popular online site for social networking. Members can build a friend group with a blog, forums and other interactive features. Ning also provides members with the ability to upload an image or photo for their personal groups. Although a member can simply upload a personal photo, many online sites provide tools to create an avatar. Ning members can use these tools to create a customized avatar. They can then upload the avatar and use it as their photo on their Ning groups.

Instructions

1. Upload any offline photos for use as your Ning photo and avatar. Follow the user guide of the digital camera if uploading photos on a digital camera. Most cameras have software to install and a USB cable to connect the camera and computer. Use a scanner to upload old photos that exist only in physical form.

3. Make a funny avatar with a distorted face with Moonjee. Upload your photo and click on the "Funny face" options. Moonjee shows a preview of each funny face. Make an avatar from your selected funny face and save it to your computer. Moonjee can also add tattoos and other face art to photos. You can even blend faces or do a virtual makeover of your pictures.

4. Create a cartoon avatar with Face Your Manga. Change the hair, eyes and other features of the cartoon character. Finish the avatar by changing the clothes of the character. Use this option if you do not want to use a personal photo on Ning.

5. Use Meez to create a 3D character for your avatar. Choose a theme. Examples of themes are anime or football. Choose various character looks, background and clothing. Select from a variety of animated effects to give more life to your avatar. Register for a free account to save the avatar to your computer.

6. Log in at your Ning page. Click the option to add a profile photo. Use the "Browse" button to find and upload your avatar. Click "Save" to use your avatar as your Ning profile photo.

Tips & Warnings

• Use a personal picture for business or professional Ning groups. You can use funny avatars and cartoons for groups that have only personal friends.
