How to Use Vinegar & Water to Clean a Tanning Bed
Maintaining cleanliness is key in keeping a tanning bed free of bacteria and fungus. If you don't like the thought of baking commercial-cleaner chemicals onto the bare skin of your customers, make a natural cleaner using a common household product: white vinegar. Vinegar has both grease-cutting and sanitizing properties, making it the only cleaner needed to maintain your tanning bed in tip-top condition. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Microfiber cloth
- Measuring cup
- White vinegar
- Water
- Pint-size spray bottle
- Paper towel or soft cloth

Wipe the tanning bed glass with a microfiber cloth to remove loose dirt and dust.

Pour one cup of white vinegar and one cup of cool water into a pint-size spray bottle.

Shake the bottle to mix the contents.

Spray the vinegar solution directly onto the glass of the tanning bed. Allow it to sit for a couple of minutes.

Wipe the solution away with a paper towel or a clean, soft cloth. If you use a cloth, make sure no dirt or other debris is attached to the surface, as it can scratch the glass on the tanning bed.

Tips & Warnings
Most tanning bed manufacturers include a list of recommended products for cleaning their tanning beds. Always check the manufacturer's recommendations before using an alternative cleaner.
If you have stubborn stains, spray the vinegar solution on the stain and allow it to sit for 30 minutes before removing.
Do not clean the tanning bed while it is turned on, or you can damage your eyes.
