Once you become a member of eBay, enjoy searching and bidding for items or selling your own items to make extra money. EBay members are free to change their user IDs once every 30 days. If you must rename your eBay account, eBay makes it simple to create a new name.

Log in to your eBay account using your current User ID and password.

Select the "My eBay" tab at the top of the web page. Select the "Account" tab.

Click the "Personal Information" link on the left sidebar.

Look through the various entries of personal information listed on this page. Click "Edit" to the right of "User ID."

Enter your current User ID and password again for security purposes. Click "Sign In."

Choose a new User ID and enter this name into the blank field. Click "Check Availability" to see whether the name is available to use. If the name is not available, choose another name and enter it into the blank field. Continue checking the availability of the user names until you find one that is available.

Click "Save" when you find a User ID that you like and that is available.
