The only three-axis graphs that are available within Excel are line graphs. You can quickly create a three-axis, 3-D line graph within the Microsoft Office Excel program after you have created your data set. Label your data set and separate the data into three columns, then you can create your graph directly within your existing Excel document. Excel will automatically determine the correct label for each axis of your graph after you select the fields you want to include in the graph.

Step 1

Double-click on the "Microsoft Office Excel" icon to open the program.

Step 2

Open the Excel file that you want to turn into a graph.

Step 3

Click on the "Insert" tab at the top of the screen.

Step 4

Locate the Charts section and click on the small arrow in the lower right corner of the box.

Step 5

Click on the "Line" heading on the left.

Step 6

Click on the "3-D Line" chart and click on the "OK" button.

Step 7

Right-click on the new chart and click on the "Select Data" option.

Step 8

Highlight the entire data range you want to include in the chart using your cursor. The legend and axis labels will automatically be created for you. Click "OK." Your new chart will immediately appear within your Excel document.
