Improper headlight adjustment on your 1998 Renault Laguna can result in decreased nighttime vision or even a fatal crash if the headlights are extremely misaligned. Any time you replace or remove the headlight assembly, you should readjust the headlights in your Laguna. The 1998 Laguna uses adjustment screws to adjust the position of the headlight. The inboard headlight adjustment screw moves the headlight left and right and is located on the inside edge of the headlight. The vertical adjustment screw is located on the top of the headlight assembly.

Instructions

    • 1

Park your 1998 Renault Laguna 20 feet away from a vertical flat surface, such as a wall, with the headlights facing the wall.

    • 2

Turn on the headlights so that they shine on the wall.

    • 3

Turn the adjustment screws so that the headlight beam sits at the bottom of the wall where the wall meets the ground. The lateral adjustment should have the headlight beams from both headlights pointing directly in front of the Laguna. From 20 feet away, this should give you the optimum headlight adjustment.
