How to Set Up Your Security Digital Video Recorder
Setting up a security digital video recorder can be a simple task depending on the type selected. However, there are a few considerations when obtaining one and setting it up for successful monitoring.

Familiarize yourself with the recorder and follow the basic directions. For instance, most digital recorders have playback features that can be viewed on TV by switching to DVD viewer. Others may allow the SD Memory card to be used with the computer for monitoring.

Install the batteries or plug the recorder into an electrical outlet. Once you are able to view the camera menu options, complete the following: set the date, time, recording preference and any other special features included.

Determine the best location for the recorder to capture images. It should be placed where it is not in the way. Decide if you are going to use batteries and/or the power cord. This may limit the location of the security digital video recorder. Mount the recorder with hardware provided or recommended by its manufacturer.
