How to Unblock a Phone Online
GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) phones use removable SIM cards to connect to a cell phone network. But oftentimes, a phone is "locked" so that it will only work with one type of SIM card. There is a way to unlock a phone so that it will work with other cards. Keep in mind that some people confuse unlocking with unblocking a phone (the latter term technically describes an illegal practice), but in most cases the goal is to simply make the phone compatible with your particular SIM card.

1
Gather complete information about your phone, including the IMEI number (type *#06# into your phone), the make, model, and name of the original network with which it was compatible.
-
2
Find a website that offers online "cell phone unlocking" services. Some services are free, but most require payment to generate what is called an "unlock code."
-
-
3
Choose the option to "Generate an Unlock Code" or similar on the service's website. Enter your information from Step 1 when prompted and click "OK" to generate the code.
-
4
Take note of the unlock code---there may be a few for you to try. Put the new SIM card into the phone and turn it on.
-
5
Type in the unlock code on the handset. It is a bit complicated because you have to use a sequence of the "*" (asterisk) key in order enter letters and some symbols. One asterisk is a simple asterisk, two asterisks represents a "+" sign, three asterisks is a "p" and four asterisks is a "w." You have to type in the number of asterisks within two seconds. Use regular number keys for numerical characters.
-
6
Wait for a message that says "phone restriction off" or something similar after you finish typing in the unlock code. The phone is now unlocked.
