How to Stucco an Outside Wall
Stucco is a durable material that can be used on outdoor surfaces to add texture. Stucco is applied in several layers, and the final layer can be molded into patterns that will remain when the material dries. The type of surface to which the stucco will be applied determines the materials needed for the first layer. Does this Spark an idea?

Utilize the plaster's rake to make scratches in the stucco to approximately 1/8-inch depth. Use a crisscross pattern. Allow the stucco to cure for an additional 24 hours. Spray with water occasionally as the layer cures to prevent it from drying out.

Apply the second layer of stucco to the wall with the finishing trowel. The depth of this second layer should be 1/8 to 1/4 inch. Create a pattern if desired before allowing the stucco to cure for 24 to 36 hours. Continue to spray the stucco periodically during the curing process to prevent drying.
