How Do I Know When Huckleberries Are Ripe?
Huckleberries are one of the more mysterious fruits, especially compared to the better known berries like strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Blueberries and huckleberries often are confused because they have a similar appearance. Huckleberries are small, round berries that range in color from dark red to nearly black. Knowing when huckleberries are ripe can mean the difference between an unappealingly bitter berry and a pleasantly tart one; however, the appearance of ripened huckleberries may not be as widely known as other fruits. Does this Spark an idea?
