How to Remove the Sun Visor on an Explorer

If the hinges have broken on the visors in your Ford Explorer or you need to replace your headliner or other components, you will need to remove your visors. You can do this easily, so that you can replace them with new ones from an auto parts store or Ford dealership.

Instructions

      Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the sun visor bracket to the roof of your Ford Explorer.

      Pull the vanity light wiring connection from the power connector if you are removing the passenger side visor (the connector will pull apart to disconnect).

    • 3

      Pull the visor free of the mounting bracket and remove it from your Explorer.

Tips & Warnings

  • Disconnect the wiring connector from the passenger visor carefully to avoid breaking the wires.
