How to Change the Color of Tinted Stucco
Stucco is highly durable and water-resistant, and the texture adds an attractive pop to a home's overall appearance. Stucco can also be relatively expensive. If you've purchased tinted stucco but aren't completely happy with the color and want to avoid the extra expense of returning to the store, you can change the color yourself by adding a small amount of acrylic paint. Things You'll Need
- 5-gallon bucket
- Acrylic paint
- Power drill
- Mixing paddle with a 20- to 30-inch shaft

Pour the tinted stucco into a 5-gallon bucket. Fill it only halfway.

Apply 1 oz. of acrylic paint in the color of your choosing.

Attach the mixing paddle to the power drill. Insert the paddle into the stucco and start it on a low setting. Gradually increase the power.

Move the drill up 1 inch and down 1 inch repeatedly to encourage proportionate mixing. Continue mixing for five full minutes.

Turn off the drill before removing the mixing paddle from the stucco.

Repeat Steps 2 through 5 until you've altered the stucco's color to your preference.

Tips & Warnings
Never remove the mixing paddle from the stucco without turning off the drill first, or you will create a considerable mess.
