Instructions

    • 1

Place a cloth around the neck of the shower head where it connects to the shower arm. Lock a pair of vise grips over the cloth and connection.

    • 2

Hold the shower arm with one hand close to the wall and turn the vise grips counterclockwise to loosen the shower head from the arm. By holding the shower arm in this way, you will prevent twisting the shower arm inside the soft copper plumbing behind the wall.

    • 3

Clean off the old plumbers tape from the threads on the shower arm with a soft cloth. If necessary, remove stuck plumber's tape from the threads with a stiff brush or old toothbrush. Wrap new plumber's tape around the threads of the shower arm.

    • 4

Place the new rubber washer into the neck of the Moen rainwater shower head. The washer should sit flat and not have any bends or twists.

    • 5

Thread the Moen shower head onto the shower arm until the shower head is hand tight. Use an adjustable wrench to turn the connection nut another half-turn to fully secure the shower head.
