Internet Explorer is the Web browser that comes installed with almost every Windows computer. There has been some controversy over having Internet Explorer bundled with Windows as unfair but regardless it is free for you to use or not. Internet Explorer went through major changes in its earlier versions but later versions of Explorer might not be as noticeably different. Internet Explorer 7 is not the latest version of the program but it does have a lot of nice features.

Instructions

    • 1

Start Internet Explorer by clicking on the Explorer icon on the desktop or choosing it from the program menu.

    • 2

Go to the "Help" menu and choose "About Internet Explorer." Read the information listed to find out what version you have.

    • 3

Go to the "Start" menu and choose "Windows Updates." Windows will open Internet Explorer and take you to the updates page. If you don't have the latest version of explorer you can download it here. If you want an older version of Explorer go to the Windows website and look under downloads for older versions.
