How to Dye Hair From Blonde to Brown Without Green
Dyeing naturally blond hair brown shouldn't pose too many problems. However, if your hair color is not naturally blond, dyeing it brown can sometimes add a little greenish tint to it. To prevent your hair from turning green, you are going to have to do one extra step before dyeing it--bleaching it. Always remember that the bleach you are to use is a hair bleach. Things You'll Need
- Old clothes and plastic gloves
- Hair bleach
- 20-percent peroxide solution
- Hair color
- Color developer
- Color conditioner

Put on old clothes and pair of plastic gloves. This will help protect your clothing from stains or bleach, and help protect your skin from stains and irritation.

Combine the hair bleach with a 20-percent peroxide solution. Anything more than 20 percent will start to damage your hair.

Leave the hair bleach in for 10 minutes and then wash it out. This will remove your hair color and allow the brown color to penetrate the hair without leaving it green.

Mix the hair color with the color developer in the application bottle provided with the hair dye.

Apply the dye to your hair. Completely saturate your hair as you massage the hair dye in.

Leave the color in your hair to allow it to set. Leave the color in for the amount of time specified in the directions. Most hair dyes need 10 to 20 minutes for the color to set.

Wash your hair under warm water until the water runs clear. Apply the hair color conditioner--this should also come with the hair color--to keep your hair healthy.

OMG WRONG! In so many ways! You dye it red first to give it a base colour and THEN you dye it the shade of brown you want! The red dye adds pigment to the blonde hair and fills it. Without it you do get green or a colour that will just not "stick". Jesus. It's redundant to bleach hair that is already blonde! God! Why not just light it on fire after all the damage that re-bleaching will cause?
