Deleting voicemail is quick and easy.

The development of voicemail allows us to leave messages for our friends and family without the necessity of a home answering machine. Now we all have a portable answering machine built right into our cellular phones which are accessible at all times. Removing voicemail from a Verizon phone is just as easy as checking your messages. In a few quick steps, you can empty out your inbox.

Instructions

    • 1

Hold down the "1" key to call and access your voicemail (if your speed dial is still set to its original programming) or dial "*86."

    • 2

Key in your access code followed by the pound button, upon being prompted, to listen to your messages.

    • 3

Allow your messages to begin playing. Once you are finished listening to them, press "7." This will delete the voicemail.

Tips & Warnings

  • In the "Messaging" section of your Verizon phone, you can clear the voicemail counter. Select "Voicemail" and you will see an option for you to erase the number of messages your phone has logged.

  • Clearing your voicemail counter will not delete your messages. You must dial "*86" and manually erase messages to rid them from your inbox.
