How to Import a Mesh From Maya to Photoshop
Maya is one of the premier 3D modeling and animation programs in the world. It has been used for a wide variety of projects, from movies and television to video games. But it is also often used to integrate 3D content and characters into 2d graphics, such as ads and posters.
In the past this simply meant rendering out 2D images from a Maya scene and then opening that image in a graphics editor like Photoshop. But, with the introduction by Adobe Corporation of the Photoshop CS3 Extended version, it became possible to export Maya models and then import the models themselves into Photoshop. The process for doing this is fairly straightforward (though you must have the ColladaMaya plug-in installed to Maya for this to work).
