Turn off your laptop and unplug it from any electrical outlets.

Dampen the cloth with water and wring it out so the cloth does not drip. Wipe the screen with the cloth. You can also use a cleaner made for an LCD screen.

Use another clean cloth dampened with water to wipe the touchpad, the keyboard, and the outside of the laptop. Make sure that water does not drip into the keyboard or any computer components.

Spray compressed air into any drives that might have grit or dust. Make sure not to touch the lens in any CD or DVD drives.

Tips & Warnings
When using water or a liquid cleaner, do not spray it directly onto the screen or other laptop components. Dampen a cloth instead.
Do not clean the screen with soap or any solution that is not meant for use on computer monitors. This can damage the screen's anti-glare finish.
