How Do I Set Up Lorex Software to Send Pictures to Email?

Your Lorex webcam can take still photos, too.

Lorex is a company that produces webcams for personal computers, among other products. When you purchase one of their webcams, it comes with software that allows you to record video. You can also take still images with the software if you just want a single picture. After you have the single image, you can upload it to an email message.

Things You'll Need

• Computer
• Lorex camera
• Driver installation CD
• Software installation CD
• Internet access
• Email account

Instructions

1. Connect the Lorex camera to your computer. A USB cable running out of the camera plugs directly into a USB port on your computer.

2. Insert the driver installation CD. When the installation wizard launches, follow the brief set of prompts.

3. Remove the driver installation CD and insert the software installation CD. Follow the requested prompts.

4. Launch the software you just installed. In the middle of the screen, you should see the image the webcam is picking up. Along the side if the image is a single camera button. This takes still shots. Press the button for a freeze-frame picture. A window opens. Title the image and select a location to which to save it.

5. Open your Internet browser and log on to your email account. Click "New" (or "Compose") and type in the message you want to send. Select "Attach," then select the image you captured with the Lorex camera (check the location in which you saved it). Choose "OK," and then send the email. The email message is sent with the attached picture.
