How to Build Your Gateway Laptop

Finding the right gateway laptop can take a little bit of research.

Gateway offers the ability to choose from a wide variety of pre-configured internal specifications for their various laptop and netbook computers. Depending on your desires for the device, you can locate a laptop computer that meets your needs and price range. If you are interested in buying a gateway laptop, finding the right model for you is a simple process, and should take only a few minutes to complete.

Instructions

1. Navigate to to the Gateway store laptop page linked in the Resources section.

2. Determine the category of laptop that is right for you. The laptops are grouped into four categories based on performance and size.

3. Select the category you wish to customize. A list will be displayed with many different configurations of each general category. The models are arranged by price and internal specifications. If you wish to compare multiple builds, simply check the box next to each build and click on "Compare" at the bottom of the page.

Tips & Warnings

• The three most important things to consider when selecting the proper build are hard drive, processor, and battery life. If you want to store a lot of data or media on your device, opt for a larger hard drive. If you wish to use more demanding programs, or run more programs simultaneously, choose a higher-end processor. Finally, consider how you will be using the laptop; if you will be unable to charge the laptop for long periods of time, you may wish to purchase a smaller laptop with a longer battery life.
