How to Make Scrapbook Pendants
Scrapbooks help memories live on using photos, stories, decorative text and paper. Perhaps an even more personal story is one hanging around your neck, like a scrapbook pendant. Using miniature photos and words, memorialize a summer vacation or special event with paper and tile as a gift to a special friend or family member. A scrapbook pendant also makes an interesting conversation piece wherever the recipient may go, reminding her of good times while holding the adventure close to her heart.

Instructions
-

1
Fold a 1 inch by 12 inch piece of scrapbook paper in a fan-like fashion to make a tiny book. Reinforce the folds with a bone paper folder. Set aside.
-
2
Rub an ink pad in a color of your choice onto a 1-inch square tile with drilled holes, coating the tile. Note that you may need to repeat this action, as the tile may absorb the ink. Ink the edges of the stone in the same or a complementary color. Dry with a heat tool.

3
Ink a decorative stamp. Press the stamp into the tile to transfer the image, finishing the scrapbook pendant's cover. Set the ink with the heat tool once more.
-
4
Coat the tile with embossing ink. Sprinkle with clear embossing powder. Be sure to cover the entire tile with powder. Set with the heat tool, which will melt the powder. Add more powder while the initial powder is wet. Add heat, and repeat several times to enamel the cover.
-
5
Add embossing ink to the front of the scrapbook title piece or a small piece of decorative paper. Heat the enameled cover to melt the embossing powder, and set the title piece into the wet enamel. Sprinkle more embossing powder over the title piece, and heat the cover once more.
-
6
Repeat steps 2 through 5 for the back cover of your scrapbook pendant.
-
7
Glue the scrapbook pages (the folded fan piece) into the covers, lining up the drilled holes in the tiles.
-
8
Thread jewelry grade string through the holes of the tiles from the spine end to the open end. At the open end, thread the string through a clasp. Do so on each side, leaving a bit piece of space at the spine to allow the scrapbook to open.
-
9
Decorate the inside pages of the scrapbook with small photos, text and images. Cut photos from proof sheets that come with your developed photos for no-effort mini-images.
-
10
Thread the scrapbook pendant on a ball chain, waxed cord, ribbon or key chain to finish.
