Install a Door Panel on a 1995 Ford Mustang

Mustang door panels need to be removed in order to access and replace speakers, window regulators, window motors, door handle mounts and door latches. Upon removal of your Mustang's door panel, if you damaged any of the trim pins that anchor the door panel to the door, you must replace them before attempting to reinstall the door panel. If you try to hang the door panel back on with damaged trim pins, odds are, you'll be the owner of a damaged door panel in no time at all.

Instructions

    • 1

Replace any damaged trim pins by sliding the old ones upward out of their mounts and sliding new ones down into the mounts.

    • 2

Hold the door panel just above and in front of the inside of the door. Push it down and onto the door, making sure the top edge seats into the groove at the top of the window and the trim pins line up with their seats.

    • 3

Push the door panel into place, and gently, but firmly, hammer the trim pins into their seats by rapping on the upholstered side of the door panel directly behind the base of the trim pin. Perform this over each trim pin until all have seated properly.

    • 4

Reinstall the window switch panel and the interior door handle bezel. Both clip back into place with a little pressure placed just over the clips. Be careful not to exert too much pressure, or you can crack the panel and bezel.

    • 5

Reinstall any fasteners you took out during the disassembly using the Philips screwdriver. If any of the fasteners are located underneath trim covers, reinstall the trim covers after the fasteners have been tightened down.
