How to Climb the Ladder on 'Call of Duty 4'

"Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" requires the player to know how to make your character climb ladders in order to get through some levels. Climbing ladders will also be necessary to gather many of the “intel” items dispersed throughout the game and will allow you to reach high vantage points while playing online multiplayer games. "Call of Duty 4" is a first person shooter video game created by Infinity Ward. It is available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS and PC.

Instructions

1. Select “Controls” from the main menu of the game. The main menu appears when you load the game.

2. Select “Stick Layout.”

3. View the “stick layout” and determine which controls are to be used to look up and move forward. These controls will be clearly labeled on the layout. They will vary depending upon the platform (e.g. Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, etc.) and configuration of the controller you are using.

4. Start playing the game by selecting “Resume Game,” “New Game” or “Multiplayer.”

5. Approach the ladder and stand at the base of it with your character.

6. Look up toward the top of the ladder.

7. Move forward while continuing to look up to begin climbing the ladder.

8. Continue moving forward to climb to the top of the ladder. You may look in any direction once you have begun climbing the ladder, but don't move right or left as this will cause you to fall off the ladder.

Tips & Warnings

• If you are still unable to climb the ladder, slightly reposition yourself at the ladder’s base and then attempt to climb the ladder again.
