Bluetooth Syncing

1
Enable Bluetooth capabilities on your computer. Although this will be a different process for each computer, there are some common steps that will need to be taken. You will need to make sure that your Bluetooth preferences are set so that your computer is discoverable by other Bluetooth devices.
-
2
Enable Bluetooth as set to discoverable on your Pantech Duo. Generally, you will want to keep it as not discoverable so that others cannot access your phone when you are within Bluetooth range and access your valuable information. Protecting your identity is critical in the information age in which we live.

-
3
Set up your Bluetooth device on your computer. This will search for Bluetooth devices within your computer's area and will locate and link up with your Pantech Duo. Once it has made the connection, search the files on your phone via your computer. You should be able to drag and drop your contacts and messages from your phone to your desktop.
USB Syncing
-
4
Connect a USB cable to your phone and computer. The computer should recognize that a device has been connected through the USB port and bring up an icon representing that device on your desktop.
-
5
Double-click on the icon that appears on your desktop representing your device. You should be able to search the files and folders that are on your device to find the information that you want to back up.
-
6
Drag and drop the files and folders from your device icon on your desktop to your desktop. The files and folders will be copied to your computer. Setting up a backup folder will help to organize your backed-up information.
Using ActiveSync
-
7
Download Microsoft ActiveSync. Depending on which version of Windows you are using, you will need a compatible version of ActiveSync. This software will help you to easily transfer data back and forth from your Pantech Duo and your computer. Most installation discs come with ActiveSync ready to be installed on your computer, but if you do not currently have it, then you can download it for free from Microsoft.
-
8
Open ActiveSync. Check the boxes to determine which information you want to download from your phone to your computer.
