How to Cite an Ebook in a Works Cited Page
Within the academic arena, citations are used to recognize and give credit to bodies of work and materials that are not our own. In order to properly acknowledge sources, we are required to adhere to an established citation format. Generally, the most widely used citation within psychology, social sciences, education and business is the American Psychological Association (APA) format. Correctly citing an ebook using the APA format requires following the appropriate guidelines.

Open Microsoft Word and create a new document titled References. Choose Times New Roman size 12 as your font, center the title and double-space the document. According to Purdue University's Online Writing Lab, reference list entries should be indented one-half inch from the left margin and alphabetized by the last name of the first author of each work.

Identify the source or publisher of the ebook that you are citing. For example, it may be through NetLibrary.com or the library database of an educational institution. Library databases that have chapters from books often give the name of the book’s publisher and the author within the description of the chapter in the database. If the author or publisher names are unavailable, such data can be absent from your citation.

Type the author's last name, followed by a comma, followed by the author's first initial and a period. Enter the year the ebook was published (in parenthesis) and then type a period. For example: Spinello, S. (2010).

Type the title of the ebook (in italics) followed by a period, then the name of the city where the ebook was published, followed by a coma plus the two-letter postal abbreviation for the state in which the book was published. Enter a colon (:) after the postal abbreviation and add the name of the publisher plus a period.

Type “Retrieved from” (less the quotation marks), followed by the complete website of the ebook’s homepage.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure to indicate the exact pages of the ebook that you are referring to in your text, so that readers will know exactly where to find it.
Don’t forget to include in-text (parenthetical) citations.
When applicable, include the particular edition of the ebook (if there’s more than one).
Verify the type of citation style you are using early on, as points may be taken away for referencing sources incorrectly.

Actually, this is incorrect. You can change the font, the width of the pages, the view of the pages (columns or not) and other such things. This changes the number of pages the ebooks have. I just got my ebooks 3 days ago and none of them have page numbers, and yes, I did use amazon kindle.

Simple, get an amazon kindle which now has page numbers on all of it ebooks.

You write, "Make sure to indicate the exact pages of the ebook that you are referring to in your text, so that readers will know exactly where to find it." How do you do that for e-books that don't HAVE page numbers? (Which is most of them.)
