How to Install FS98 on Windows XP

Flight Simulator 98, or FS98, is a flying program designed for use under the Windows 98 operating system. Although FS98 was programmed to work under Windows 98, you can still use it under your Windows XP system with nothing more than a few simple tweaks using the Windows XP Compatibility Mode. This is a built-in mode that will convince the software that it is running under Windows 98, thereby preventing compatibility errors.

• FS98 installation disk

Instructions

1. Insert the FS98 installation disk into your computer and press the "Install" button.

2. Reboot your computer to complete the installation.

3. Open the "Start" menu and click on the "All Programs" list.

4. Find the executable file for FS98 (the file that you would click to start the game).

5. Right-click on this file and select "Properties."

6. Click on the "Compatibility" tab and checkmark the box next to the line reading "Run this program in Compatibility Mode."

7. Select "Windows 98" from the drop-down menu and press "OK."
