How to Troubleshoot Verizon DSL Macbook Wireless Internet
Although Verizon Wireless is best known as a cellular phone company, you can obtain a DSL Internet connection from Verizon if you live in the service area. If you do have an Internet connection through the company and want to connect your Macbook wirelessly to the DSL modem, you need to perform a few troubleshooting checks to ensure the Macbook correctly connects to your Wi-Fi network.

1
Plug an Ethernet cable into one of the "Out" ports on the back of the DSL modem. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the "Internet" (or "WAN") port on the back of the Wi-Fi router. You need a wireless router connected to the DSL modem to connect your Macbook to a Wi-Fi signal.

2
Plug a second Ethernet cable into one of the "Out" ports on the wireless router, and plug the opposite end into the Ethernet port on your Mac computer. The wireless router will need to be activated, which will require you to connect it to your computer. Without activating it, the Wi-Fi router won't work.

-
3
Look at the bottom of your wireless router. An HTTP address is listed. Type this into your Safari Web browser. Press "Enter" and the activation screen for your wireless router appears.
-
4
Select if you are using other wireless routers with the one you are activating, then create a new password and username. Click "Save" to save and activate the wireless router.
-
5
Double-click the Wi-Fi icon in the upper right corner of your desktop screen. You must select the Wi-Fi network, if you don't you can't connect to it.
-
6
Choose your wireless network, then type in the password you created. Make sure you are typing it in correctly; otherwise, you won't connect to the signal.
-
7
Launch your browser, and you can now connect to the Internet without any issues from your Verizon DSL Internet.
