Instructions

    • 1

Check with your cell phone service provider to confirm that you are signed up for a web browsing plan. If you are not, you will need to sign up before you will be able to access the internet on your BlackBerry.

    • 2

Look for a browser icon on your home screen. It may look like a globe with a yellow arrow circling it, but may vary depending on your provider. If you do not see the icon here, press on the key with seven white dots just to the left of your trackball. This will take you to a screen with more icons where you can locate your browser.

    • 3

Highlight the browser icon by using your trackball to scroll up, down, left or right.

    • 4

Press straight down on the trackball to open the browser and begin using the Internet on your BlackBerry.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you cannot find a browser icon after following the instructions in Step 2, try pressing the key with seven white dots a second time, then select "Show All." If your browser icon was hidden, this will reveal it. If this does not work and you are sure you should have Internet access, you may have to reregister your BlackBerry. To do this, click on the "Options" icon, which looks like a wrench, on your BlackBerry. Next, click on "Advanced Options." From there, click on the "Host Routing Table" option and scroll until you find the bold entry on this list. Highlight that entry with your trackball and press the white-dotted button again. Select the "Register Now" option. Once you get a registration message from your service provider, turn off your BlackBerry and remove the battery for 30 seconds.

  • You can use the default browser on your BlackBerry to visit websites that allow you to download different browsers, like Bolt or Opera Mini, designed for your mobile device. If you download one of these browsers, its icon on your home screen will look different from the normal BlackBerry browser icon.
