How to Make Ancient Egyptian Bracelets
Egyptian-style cuff bracelets make beautiful fashion accessories for women. Ancient Egyptians as evidenced in tomb murals first wore plain gold cuffs as part of their daily costumes. Make an Egyptian-style bracelet to wear during a night out or with a cool summer outfit. Transform a plain plastic cuff or make a pair from gold fabric. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Gold craft paint
- Copper craft paint
- Foam plate
- Paintbrush
- Plastic 3-inch wide cuff
- Hot-glue gun
- Hot glue
- Light-blue decorative stone
- Golden ankhs
- Small decorative silver stones
- 6 inches of 3-inch-wide gold fabric
- Fabric glue
- Hook and fastener stripping
- Scissors

Plastic Cuff Bracelet

Squirt a dime-sized amount of gold craft paint onto a foam plate. Squirt a dime-sized amount of copper paint onto a foam plate. Mix the two with a paintbrush.

Lay the plastic cuff on a plastic place mat you can throw away. Dab some paint on your paintbrush. Paint the plastic cuff with the paint you mixed. Paint inside and outside of the cuff.

Allow the cuff to dry completely. Turn the cuff over. Paint the rim that was not painted. Allow it to dry.

Dab a few drops of hot glue in the center of the cuff. Position the blue stone in the center of the cuff.

Glue one ankh symbol to the left and to the right of the decorative stone. Alternatively, you could substitute the ankh sign for the blue decorative stone. Add tiny silver stones to the borders of the bracelet for a pretty look.
Fabric Cuffs

Turn the fabric wrong side up. The short 3-inch side should be in front of you. Glue a string of fabric glue along the edge. Fold the fabric over the glue to make the seam. Do the same for the opposite short side.

Turn the fabric putting the 6-inch side in front of you. String the glue along the edge. Fold the fabric over the edge. Do the same on the opposite side. Allow the glue to dry.

Cut the hook and fastener stripping in 3-inch strips. Peel the backing off the strips and attach the strip to the fabric. To wear, wrap the fabric cuffs around your wrist and press the hook and fasteners together.
