How Do I Import Favorites From Mozilla Firefox Into IE7?


Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 are two of the most popular web browsing applications among PC users. Many people choose to use one web browser exclusively, because they have all of their favorite sites stored in that program. However, if you are considering switching from Firefox to Internet Explorer 7, you can easily export your bookmarks from Firefox and import them into Internet Explorer 7.

Things You'll Need

  • PC running Windows XP or later
  • Launch the Firefox application on your PC computer.

  • Go to "Bookmarks" in the top menu bar and select "Organize Bookmarks."

  • Click on the "Import and Backup" button at the top of the pop-up window and choose the "Export HTML" option.

  • Navigate to your desktop and hit "Save."

  • Close Firefox and open Internet Explorer 7.

  • Click on the "Favorites" button in the top toolbar.

  • Open the "Add to Favorites" drop-down menu and select "Import and Export."

  • Choose the "Import from a file" option and hit "Next."

  • Click on the "Browse" button, double-click on the Firefox favorites file you saved in Step 4 and hit "Next" again.

  • Press the "Import" button to add the Firefox bookmarks to your Internet Explorer 7 favorites list.
