Clearing the Miami International Airport immigration and customs check is as difficult or as painless as you make it. Present items and documents, required by federal law, in order to obtain immigration and customs clearance. Prepare for any possible problem by having all necessary information and by filling out all forms accurately the first time to avoid being sent to the end of the queue to begin again, wasting time and possibly missing your flight.

  • Photo identification card, such as a driver's license)
  • Passport (even for U.S. citizens and minors)
  • Visa
  • Birth certificate (especially for minors)
  • Certified letter from non-custodial parent of traveling minor (if parents are divorced)
  • I-94 (white form - Arrival/Departure Record)
  • I-94W (green form - Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver Arrival/Departure Record)

      Fill out the I-94 and the I-94W forms in ink accurately, using only capital letters, wherever it states, "TYPE" or "PRINT." Nonimmigrant passengers entering the United States through the Miami International Airport receive the forms before landing at the airport. One form is presented to each family.       Claim your luggage after exiting the plane, before seeking immigrations and customs areas. Two U.S. Immigrations and Customs areas are located at the Miami International Airport: one in Central Terminal E, level 1 and one in South Terminal J, level 3. Queues are divided into non-citizen and U.S. citizen queues. Step into the appropriate line.
