How to Get a Copy of a Texas GED Transcript

Get a copy of your GED from the state of Texas.

If you have received a General Education Development diploma in Texas, you may need to get a copy. If you are applying for a job that requires proof of a high school or equivalent degree, or simply to have on file, keeping a copy of your Texas GED may be of value.

Things You'll Need

• Name
• Date of birth
• Social Security Number

Instructions

1. Go to the Texas Education Agency's page (tea.state.tx.us/index.aspx). Select "GED." As of January 26, 2012, the Texas Education Agency no longer accepts Official GED Certificate/Transcript requests or verification requests via mail, fax, e-mail or walk-in.

2. Click the "Texas GED Certificate/Transcript Search" link. Enter your Social Security Number and Date of Birth.

3. Search for your records using the database. Print the transcript from a connected printer.
