How to Register for the Postal Battery Exam

Many applicants are required to take an examination to work in certain positions for the United States Postal Service . There are different exams for different positions. The 473 Battery Exam, for example, is for applicants who want to work as city carriers, mail processing clerks, mail handlers, distribution associates and rural carriers, just to name a few. Registering to take the exam can be done online.

      Complete an online assessment. An email invitation for the assessment will be sent the email address that you provided on your application.

      The email will contain the online assessment account and login information that you will need in order to register. Read the communication or invitation thoroughly. Some assessments may require multiple steps. Enter all your personal information and follow the instructions.

      Choose the next available date, time and location to take the exam. Note that you will have 14 days to complete the assessment process. For those assessments that require two steps, you won't be able to take the exam unless you have successfully completed the first half.
