Instructions

    • 1

Carefully remove the wrappers from Starburst candies and collect them. Depending on the size of the bracelet you want to make you will need at least 20 to 30 wrappers.

    • 2

Smooth the wrappers out so they are easier to work with.

    • 3

Fold your first wrapper by placing it lengthwise in front of you with the colored side of the paper facing downward. Fold the bottom piece toward the center, and then fold the top piece into the center so the two ends line up in the middle. The original fold of the candy wrapper should fall in line with this first fold, which will make it easier for you to recreate.

    • 4

Fold lengthwise again, so the bottom half meets the top half and smooth out the crease. An easy way to remember this is that you will fold in half where the top and bottom meet.

    • 5

Line up the edges and fold the wrapper lengthwise one more time, smoothing a sharp crease along the back.

    • 6

Fold the rectangle in half, creating a "V" shape. Open the "V" and fold each end inward to meet with the crease. When properly folded you will have a "V" shape half the size of the original "V."

    • 7

Repeat the folding process with about 25 Starburst wrappers and set them aside so they are ready to go when you start piecing your bracelet together.

    • 8

Grab two pre-folded wrappers and lay the folded end of the "V" over the index finger on your left hand. Pinch the second wrapper between your thumb and index finger on your right hand.

    • 9

Insert the folded ends of the right-hand "V" into folded ends on the left-hand "V", interlocking them together. Push the ends all the way through and slide the papers together, creating a dual-papered "V."

    • 10

Hold the new "V" upright and insert the folded ends of the third candy wrapper into openings between the openings of the right-hand side of the "V," and gently push the wrapper down. If inserted properly, it will create an "N" shape when turned upside down.

    • 11

Insert the next wrapper, creating a "W" shape, and continue piecing the wrappers together until your chain is long enough to wear as a bracelet.

    • 12

Close the bracelet off by unfolding one of the small "Vs" into the larger "V" shape. Insert the ends into the slots on the opposite end of the bracelet, and tuck them bring them back up and around to tuck them in.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also glue traditional jewelry clasps onto the ends of the bracelet with craft glue or a hot-glue gun for a sturdier hold. Jewelry clasps can be found in craft and hobby stores.
