How to Use the Microphone on the Wii

The Wii Speak is a microphone accessory you can buy for the Wii. The microphone is used to talk with friends across Nintendo Wii Wi-Fi while you are playing a game together. The microphone is an added bonus for various Wii games, such as "Animal Crossing" and "The Conduit." Using the microphone is easy.

Instructions

1. Plug the adapter into the USB outlet at the top of the Wii. Face the sensor toward where you will play. Boot up the Wii.

2. Press the button on the front of the microphone to sync it up with the Wii; a blue light will confirm that the sync was successful. Do this before or after you boot up the Wii, but before you select the video game you want to play.

3. Turn on the Wii and insert a microphone-usable game.

4. Speak. Use the microphone to choose commands (Wii Speak) or talk to friends over the Wi-Fi network (Animal Crossing). Stay in the range of the adapter, which is 3' to 9'.
