How Do I Set Up the Fingerprint Reader on My IBM?

Some IBM Lenovo laptops have a fingerprint security feature that lets only the person with a certain fingerprint log in to the system. If you have one of these laptops, this may be a useful feature if you have highly important or personal information on your laptop. It takes about five minutes to set up the fingerprint reader on your IBM laptop.

      Click the "Start" button in the bottom right corner of the desktop. Scroll up and click "Programs." Scroll over to "Access IBM" and click. Select "Fingerprint Software" and click "Control Center."

      Hit "Create new Passport and enroll fingerprints" on the welcome page that appears. Enter your password on the next page. Click the "Next" button.

      Select the finger that you want to use for fingerprinting with the drop-down menu on the "User Enrollment" page. Hit the "Enroll" button. Click the "Next" button.

      Swipe the finger over the fingerprint sensor. Remember to use the finger that you choose in Step 3. Swipe it three times.

      Click "Next" when you are finished swiping your finger on the "User Enrollment" page. Click the "Next" button.

      Click on the box next to the "Power-on Security" box. Click the "Add ..." button and enter the fingerprint that you just made.
